HE HAU HOU

An annual festival dedicated to original performance work by Māori, Pasifika, and LGBTQiA+ artists.

 

HE HAU HOU provides development, presentation, and visibility opportunities for new voices and emerging practitioners working across theatre, haka, dance, waiata, spoken word, interdisciplinary performance, and experimental indigenous forms.

This RĀTĀ PATHWAY anchor project strengthens Tauranga Moana’s creative ecology by supporting locally generated contemporary indigenous and/or queer performance while attracting national artists, collaborators, and audiences. It also creates employment pathways for producers, technicians, performers, writers, directors, and designers.
